Recruitment is Your Key

New Members are the lifeblood of Alpha Phi. Through the mutual selection process called "recruitment" approximately 30 lucky girls join Alpha Phi each fall. Our New Members will represent Alpha Phi on the UVa campus for four years and will become a part of an international network of outstanding women. These New Members exemplify the ideals on which our sorority was founded over 130 years ago.

Your first step toward joining Alpha Phi -- or any sorority on the UVa campus -- is signing up for recruitment. Formal recruitment takes place in the spring of each year. You can register for recruitment with the Inter-Sorority Council online beginning May 1, 2005.

In addition, while alumnae recommendations are not required to participate in formal recruitment, we love to know that an alumna thinks you'd make a great Alpha Phi. So, if you have a friend or family member who is an Alpha Phi alumna, be sure to tell her of your interest in joining a sorority and ask her to write a reference for you so that you may be introduced to the women of the Zeta Iota ^ chapter of Alpha Phi! We look forward to meeting you in January! End of story
